Autumn 1

Welcome back!

Welcome back, we hope you had a wonderful summer and are excited to be starting a new year. We are looking forward to getting to know all of you through your time in year 2. We have lots of exciting things planned throughout the year and we can wait to share them all with you. 

This half term we are looking at There is no Dragon in this story and Local Area. In Maths our focus is Place Value and Addition and Subtraction. 

Key information

Homework - Spellings and Maths homework will be given out every Friday. Can we please ask that all homework books are back in school by the following Tuesday of each week ready to be updated. 

PE - Year 2 PE days will be on Tuesday and Thursday. Please ensure your child's named PE kit is in school on these days. 

Reading books - Reading books will be sent home on different days of the week. Please read with your child and sign their reading journal. Return the book to school on their reading day which will be written inside their journal.
